Academic integrity policy

You stay the author. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.

Our principle

We help you understand, improve and finish your own work. We do not produce graded work for you to submit as your own, and we will decline requests that would put you in breach of your institution's rules.

What we do

  • Coaching and feedback on essays, assignments, proposals and chapters that you write.
  • Editing and proofreading of your own text, delivered in tracked changes so you accept or reject every change. For theses, we follow your university's editing policy and can limit edits to language only when required.
  • Statistics and analysis support that is documented and explained, so you can reproduce, understand and defend every step. For theses, you remain the analyst of record and should follow your program's rules on outside help.
  • Model explanations and worked examples of methods and concepts, for learning.

What we don't do

  • Write essays, assignments, theses or other graded work for submission.
  • Take online classes, quizzes or exams.
  • Offer to make text "undetectable" or to disguise AI-generated text.
  • Promise grades, admission, scholarships or publication.

Acknowledging help

Many universities expect students to acknowledge professional editing or statistical advice. If yours does, we'll give you a short, accurate description of the help we provided for your acknowledgments section.

If a request falls outside this policy

We'll tell you plainly and suggest what we can do instead, for example coaching you through a task rather than doing it. If you're unsure what your institution allows, ask us and check with your supervisor or instructor.
